10/14/2007 John Doesn't Have Internet
For those wondering where the FGD crew has been, John's internet has not been working for about a couple months now. Then he moved. Which was a nightmare trying to get internet resolved. Right now, John is in a Caribou Coffee updating this site. Hopefully his home internet will be working soon. John likes writing these news things in the third person. It makes John feel like Rickey Henderson.
8/12/2007 FGD to Compete in Non-Sports
Your favorite comedy due (no, Fried Green Durbins. Jerk.) is at it again. They've been selected to compete in the International Sketch Comedy Competition. There are two rounds, the New York, LA, and Chicago regionals then a final in LA. FGD will be part of the Chicago Regional.
The detes we have right now: Sept 6 at the Barrel of Laughs in Oak Lawn, IL.
Come out and support the squad. This is the closest John will ever get to being a professional athlete. Help make his daydreams come somewhat true.

8/1/2007 Overdue Congrats
Congratsos to Meggos on getting into Comedysportz. For those unfamiliar, the Comedysportz is an improv theatre in Chicago that does funny shows. She got offered a spot about a month and we haven't gotten a chance to update. So yay!
John is learning the violin. Good for him.

6/29/2007 We're Not Spamming
I'm not sure if anyone else has gotten e-mails from us offering mortgages, but I can assure we are not the ones doing it. I have no idea if it is the autoforward sending spams those e-mails are getting to us or what the deal is. Either way, we apologize if somehow you are getting these from us. If you know some way to prevent someone using our e-mail addresses, e-mail us. Just know we are not in the market for a new home or Canadian prescriptions.

6/20/2007 Back to the Writing Cavern!
Your favorite two person comedy group (Fried Green Durbins) is back to the writing board to develop all new material. We have some leads on some gigs, so check back for your FGD fix. We're also hoping to get back to the filming realm to fire up some hot fresh videos for you.
On a related note, here is a story. FGD entered the sketchies on Youtube by submitting the Ocean is Deeper portion of their Soap Opera/Midway movie (see the videos section). Unfortunately one of the members of the group *cough* John *cough* didn't notice the rule that says submissions must be in English. Whoops. Nothing like an automatic disqualification.
6/17/2007 Late Thank You
Thanks to those who came out to the Playground for the rockin' good time that was the Fried Green Durbins show. We had lots of fun and appreciate the laughs and applause. Especially the laughs. Thanks to to Rub a Dub Dub for having us and doing a good show of their own.
Yay!

3/31/2007 DC Time Announced
What up, playas. We have found that we will be going second to last during the DC Comedyfest Comedy Jam taking the stage around 11:40PM est. Let's be adults though, we probably won't be going til at least midnight.
Make sure you take a nap after work then drink some coffee after dinner because you will want to awake and lively for the ruckus FGD is planning. This could be our bluest show yet.
Ya, I know, it scares us too.
3/20/2007 New Video & DC Here We Come!
Updated: Videos in Media and the John Section
Exciting news on two fronts.
1) Fried Green Durbins will be participating in DC Comedyfest Comedy Jam on April 13. We're still waiting for some details on what time we will actually be performing, so we will keep you posted. This means FGD is officially bi-coastal in 2007. Now if we can line up a Great Plains Gig and a Southwest gig, we will be pretty close to covered. Yes, we just invited ourselves to perform in Omaha. Your play, Omaha, your play.
2) We have another video up. It is from our Chicago Sketchfest Show. We did the ending live, so the way this ends is a little different than the live show. Same message, different delivery. Just the kind of behind the scenes nuances you can learn about here at Friedgreendurbins.com.
This isn't exciting but seemed appropriate. A restaurant we went to was serving fried green tomatoes so we ate some. Pretty decent. Look alive gang, more to come.
3/9/2007 We have a website!
We have a website. After months of preparing, it is finally here. Friedgreendurbins.com. We hope to have this as a hub of all our FGD needs. Now this beauty might be a little overwhelming, so here are some things you need to know to successfully find your way around.
